The digital recording extension to Globally Executable MHP (GEM) was jointly developed by DVB members and CableLabs participants to be a "common core" between MHP and OCAP. It defines the basic behaviour for a digital TV recording and playback engine. It defines basic APIs to control that engine including scheduling, managing and playing back recordings.
